Power in a compact package
Here’s the core of it: the SK15 runs at 400V and can deliver up to 2500W of power, all packed into a 300mm tube. That’s a lot of heat in a small footprint. What does that mean for you? It means the filament gets hot—fast. You get rapid heat-up and the ability to concentrate thermal energy right where you need it, not spread it all over the place. But with that kind of concentrated power comes a reality check. You have to treat the cooling seriously. Whether you’re using air or water, it needs to be properly sized. If the cooling isn’t up to the task, the reflector and the end-caps will run hot, and that’s a one-way ticket to cutting the lamp’s life short.
The design that makes it work
Inside, the lamp uses a halogen cycle to keep the filament stable at extreme temperatures. That helps it last longer and keeps the output steady—no surprises when you’re in the middle of a run. The carbon fiber filament itself is tuned for speed and strong emissivity in the shortwave infrared range. So you get deep, fast heating that penetrates materials cleanly. Then there’s the SK15 base. It’s a double-ended, linear connector that gives you a secure, low-resistance electrical connection. It’s built to handle the high current without getting sloppy and overheating. And honestly?
